Rockin Blues/Jazz Camp is open to any musicians who have an interest in jazz and are already proficient on their instruments. Beginners will not be accepted to this camp. Led by jazz guitarist Nat Janoff and his band Berkana students will get experience playing with other jazz musicians under the direction of highly acclaimed jazz musicians.

The camp will focus on improvisation and campers will have the opportunity to rehearse blues and jazz standards as well as funk and jazz-rock fusion. Students will learn jazz music theory and gain experience analyzing jazz standards focusing on scales, chord progressions, melody and form. Students will be using the text "An Understandable Guide To Music Theory (The Most Useful Aspects of Theory for Rock, Jazz & Blues Musicians.)" Sheet music will also be provided for all music. Students will record their works in the studio on the final day of the camp and receive a copy shortly after the camp.

On the Saturday evening following the camp, students will have the opportunity to play at Mexicali Blues in Teaneck and perform on a professional stage with full sound and lighting systems. Link to Nat Janoff: Berkana: http://www.natjanoff.com http://www.berkanaband.com
