CAMP
Rockin'
Week Camp is a fun and exciting musical day camp for boys
and girls ages 10-17. Rock music is a major part of the
camp, but all styles are welcome to participate. Although
open to all instruments, Rockin Week Camp is geared to
singers, guitarists, bassists, drummers and keyboardists.
Rockin' Week Camp offers students the opportunity to work
with other musicians under the guidance of professional
working musicians. One year playing experience is preferred.
Lets get ready to rock. Camps will be held from 9-4:30.
(Pick-up by 5:00) in Garfield NJ, West Paterson NJ, Little
Ferry NJ, Wayne NJ at William Paterson University.
Campers will be involved in all aspects of being in a
band from writing songs and practicing, to performing
and learning about the music business. Rehearsing songs
as a group and working together is stressed and is an
important aspect of the camp. For a listing of activities
By the end of the week students will gain a better understanding
of what it takes to be in a band and the dedication, practice
and hard work that goes along with it. Students will record
the songs on the last day of the camp in the studio and
will receive a copy of the CD shortly after the camp is
completed. On the Saturday evening following the camp,
students will have the opportunity to perform at well
known venue and play on a professional stage with full
sound and lighting systems. A DVD of the performance will
be available as well. Added this year will be seminars
on Pop Music Theory using examples from Jimi Hendrix and
the Beatles to Blink 182, Greenday, and Metallica . Special
guest appearances are in the works so stay tuned.
